County 4-H Ambassador

The purpose of the 4-H Ambassadors is to promote 4-H in Muskingum County and develop leadership skills by assisting with and participating in various activities throughout the year. Youth must be at least age 13 as of January 1, 2026. Interested applicants must complete the Muskingum County Achievement Form by November 15 at 11:59 p.m. Interviews will be held at the Extension Office on December 16.

Camp Counselor

Camp counselors work with an Extension professional, adult 4-H volunteers, and the 4-H Camp Ohio staff to conduct a variety of outdoor learning experiences for campers ages 8-13. Counselors work with a partner to supervise a small group of campers in a cabin living environment. Camp counselors attend meetings and activities from February through June to plan camp activities and learn skills needed to be an effective camp counselor. Camp counselor applicants must be ages 14 to 18 as of January 1, 2026. To be eligible to be a counselor, candidates must be a 4-H member in good standing. Complete Camp Counselor Application by November 15, 11:59 p.m. and participate in Counselor Selection Night on December 4 if applicant has not served as a counselor.

Junior Fair Board

Junior Fair Board members can be representatives from several youth organizations including 4-H, FFA, FCCLA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Youth Grange. Junior Fair Board members are responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of many Junior Fair aspects of the Muskingum County Fair. Members may be asked to help with livestock events during the fair, but will focus on other programming efforts - Stock the Trailer, Cloverbuds, Parade/Royalty and other events decided on by the members. Junior Fair Board applicants must be ages 14 to 18 as of January 1, 2026. Selected youth serve a one-year term. Interested applicants must complete a Junior Fair Board Application by November 15 at 11:59 p.m. Interviews for new members will be held on December 16.

Junior Leadership Club

4-H teens have the opportunity to participate in leadership development in a countywide group beyond their local 4-H club. The group meets year round at various locations throughout the county and state with a focus on career opportunities, leadership, citizenship and developing relationships among its members. Members must be at least age 13 as of January 1, 2026. Youth can join anytime.
