    Zanesville, OH; Coshocton, OH–Join OSU Extension in Muskingum and Coshocton Counties for the 2026 Agronomy School on January 29, 2026.  Agenda topics include corn and soybean production trends, farm economics, vomitoxin management, and soil and water management.  Featured speakers include Laura Lindsey (Professor, Soybeans/Small grains), Eric Richer, (Field Specialist, Farm Management), Jason Hartschuh (Field Specialist, Dairy Management and Precision Livestock), and Vinayak Shedekar (Assistant Professor, Agricultural Water Management).

    Each year, OSU Extension holds “Planning for the Future of Your Farm” workshops to help families with farm transition planning.  We offer three ways for farm families to learn.

    Private pesiticide applicators and fertilizer applicators have two opportunities to attend recertification classes in Muskingum County in 2026. There are two sessions that start with three hours of Pesticide credits and end with one hour of fertilizer credits. If you have both a pesticide license and fertilizer certification you will need a total of four hours of training.

    It is estimated there are several hundred thousand head of cattle on the roadways each day in the United States. A Bovine Emergency Response Plan (BERP) and teaching curriculum were developed to offer a framework for local emergency responders to more effectively and efficiently address accidents involving livestock transportation.  Ohio Farm Bureau and OSU Extension will host a First Responder Livestock Training in Duncan Falls on February 21, 2026.  To register for this free training call 740-452-2356 or email muskingum@ofbf.org.
