2025 Pesticide and Fertilizer Applicator Recertification
You have the opportunity to participate in recertification sessions offered this year in Muskingum County. There are two sessions that start with three hours of Pesticide credits and end with 1 hour of fertilizer credits. If you have both a Pesticide License and a Fertilizer Certification you will need a total of 4 hours of training.

Registration and Payment
Pre-registration is expected. There is a $35.00 fee for the recertification class. Register and pay online or by check with the enclosed registration form 3 days prior to the session you will be attending. This fee is in addition to the $30.00 license fee that is paid separately to the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Send your $30.00 renewal fee to O.D.A., 8995 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 after you have participated in a recertification session. Bring your pesticide card or pesticide license number with you to the meeting.

New Applicators
If you are aware of anyone who is interested in obtaining their initial private pesticide applicator’s license, a training session will be conducted on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the OSU Extension - Muskingum County Office, 225 Underwood Street in Zanesville. Call the office at 740-454-0144 to make a reservation for the training by January 17. Additional information is available here.
The Ohio Department of Agriculture will be conducting the pesticide applicator’s test on February 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the OSU Extension - Muskingum County Office, 225 Underwood Street, in Zanesville. Register for testing on ODA’s website: https://agri.ohio.gov/divisions/plant-health/pesticides/online/applicator-exams
Current licensed private applicators can also add categories to their existing license by taking and passing specific category tests offered by ODA on February 26, 2025. You may also obtain Fertilizer Applicator Certification by taking an exam.
