4-H Junior Camp
2008 Muskingum County Camp dates are June 12-16, 2008.
You're Invited to Muskingum County 4-H Junior Camp...
When:
Thursday June 12 – Monday, June 16, 2008.
Where:
4-H Camp Ohio – Located in the northeast corner of Licking County, north of Newark, near St. Louisville and
Martinsburg. You must arrange your own transportation to and from camp. Full participation at camp is expected.
Who:
4-H members between the ages of 8 (and in the 3rd grade) and 13, as of January 1, 2008. Non 4-H youth may also attend.
Why 4-H Camp?
4-H Camp is fun! Campers gain skills in swimming, wildlife and nature, stream life and fishing, health and fitness, crafts, archery, canoeing, and much more! Recreation activities include swimming, softball, basketball, volleyball, hiking, campfires, outdoor cooking, and many other planned activities. Adventure programs include team challenge, zip line, climbing wall, high ropes, scuba, and mountain boarding (similar to snowboarding without the snow).
Cost:
2008 costs will be posted as they become available. Discounts are offered for the 2nd, 3rd, etc. 4-H’ers (excluding counselors) going to camp.
Non 4-H youth may attend.
Optional Activities:
Extra fees are due with your registration! Actual costs will be posted when available.
Lamp Craft: Guernsey-Muskingum Electric assists campers to make their own 4-H lamp to take home.
Pictures: An 8x10 group picture of our county camp will be taken.
High Ropes: A high ropes course is 12 “obstacles” 20-feet up off the ground that stresses problem solving, group
consideration and safety. It is taught by certified ropes instructors. Campers must be at least 12 by the time of
camp to participate. Open to campers ages 12 and over (by the time of camp) will be a scuba diving class in the swimming pool.
Cabin Assignments:
Campers will be assigned to their cabin prior to camp. You may request one person you want in your cabin.
Once you arrive at camp you will get your cabin assignment.
