2008 PROJECT INFORMATION

Dog Clinic

A dog clinic will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. Special guest will be Lucinda Miller, 4-H Extension Specialist, Companion and Small Animals.

Poultry Clinic

A 4-H Poultry Clinic will be conducted Saturday, May 31, 11:00 a.m. at the Muskingum County fairgrounds.

4-H Rabbit Youth Advisory Board Meeting

The 4-H Rabbit Youth Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2008; 9:00 a.m. at Applebees on Maple Ave. Everyone with a rabbit project is invited to get involved!

Broiler and Market Duck Orders

Members taking meat broilers (#152) for a project, must call in orders for birds to the Extension Office by April 15. It is recommended that each member order at least 6. The fair exhibit will be 2 cockerels or 2 pullets. Pick up will be in June at the OSU Extension Office. Cost is $1.25 per bird.

Members taking a market duck project must order their ducks by April 15th through the Extension Office. It is recommended that members order at least 4 ducks. Pick up will be in June, location to be announced.

All broiler and market duck orders must be pre-paid at the time of order. Checks should be made payable to: “4-H Poultry Committee.” Contact the office for price. No refunds for unclaimed birds.

Please note: the emphasis will be on hog at these sessions:

Thursday, April 17, 2008; 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Coburn UMC, 3618 Maple Ave., Zanesville (across from Colony Square Mall).
Wednesday, May 7, 2008; 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Larry Miller Intermediate Building, East Muskingum Schools, New Concord

Market Lamb QA

April 5, 2008 at Extension Office, sponsored by the Muskingum County Sheep Producers Association and OSU Extension. Fliers will be sent to all 4-H members taking market lamb projects in 2007.
