Muskingum County 4-H Saddle Horse Committee
This committee is made up of one advisor and one older youth representative from each horse club in the county. Each club decides upon their representatives. The committee meets 5-6 times during the year and helps to guide and conduct horse programs in the county. Each club needs to be represented at the meeting (don’t forget to include youth reps). Please select persons who will be able to attend meetings and assist with things throughout the year.
Uniform Rules
The state uniform rules books are available in the Extension Office for $5.00.
Safety and Ethics Program
“Equine Safety & Ethics Program for 2008” – all new members are required to read a safety booklet, view 2 videos and sign release forms. Those youth who previously saw the video only need to sign the “Permission to Participate in 4-H Horse Activities Disclosure and Release of Claim Form”.
Equine Record Book (#190R)
Remember, this is required for projects #175, 177, 180, 181, 182, 183, 184, 185, 188 and 189. It is NOT needed for 174, since it has record sheets inside of the book. Also, if anyone is taking vet science projects that are horse related, they should complete a 190R. Note: A new project #174, “Beginning Horse Management” will replace projects #171 and 172.
